Endodontics – also known as root canal treatment or tooth devitalization – is a fundamental dental procedure to save a tooth compromised by deep cavities, trauma, or infections. At our practice in Piazza Casalmaggiore, 3, we approach every endodontic treatment with microscopic precision, cutting-edge 3D technologies, and a person-centered vision.
“Building trust through smiles” is not just a motto, but the principle guiding every clinical decision we make: saving a natural tooth means offering the patient not only restored function but also the peace of mind to smile confidently again.
Devitalization is indicated when the innermost part of the tooth – the pulp – is inflamed or necrotic, often due to untreated cavities, fractures, or trauma. Common symptoms include acute pain, sensitivity, swelling, or infections such as abscesses and granulomas.
Root canal therapy involves removing infected tissue and hermetically sealing the root canals to prevent recurrence.
In our endodontics practice in Rome, these situations are treated with latest-generation digital technologies that allow for precise, safe, and predictable planning.
The difference is real and tangible. Thanks to the 3D rendering of canal morphology and the use of the operating microscope, we can:
Every phase – from diagnosis to sealing – is performed in a minimally invasive and painless manner, with the utmost attention to patient comfort even post-operatively.
Root canal treatment is just the first step towards complete tooth rehabilitation. After treatment, it is essential to strengthen the devitalized tooth with appropriate reconstruction.
In our practice, we accompany the patient through every stage, clearly explaining the most suitable restorative options and providing personalized instructions on diet, oral hygiene, and periodic check-ups.
This approach ensures long-lasting results and helps prevent complications over time.
In some cases, a previously treated tooth may present new symptoms or infections. We intervene with root canal retreatment, a procedure often resolving issues that, thanks to the operating microscope, allows for the correction of any previous problems with maximum precision.
Choosing our clinic means:
Every day, we help people restore their smiles… and their self-confidence!
We receive by appointment to ensure maximum privacy and service quality.
It is a therapy that removes infected or necrotic tissue inside the tooth (the pulp), disinfects the root canals, and seals them to preserve the tooth and prevent future infections. It is also known as “root canal treatment” or “devitalization.”
Devitalization or root canal therapy is the procedure to disinfect and seal (and thus “fill”) the root canals. The “canal filling” is therefore a phase of root canal therapy and is technically the phase in which the root canals are “sealed” with biocompatible materials.
None: they are synonyms. The crown (or cap) is a protective covering that covers and strengthens a tooth compromised by cavities or trauma, restoring its shape and function.
Probably due to a cavity, which has destroyed the enamel and dentin. If untreated, the cavity can progress to the pulp and require devitalization.
Localized swelling, presence of a small gingival bump (fistula), persistent bad breath, tooth discoloration, sensitivity to pressure or chewing. These signs may indicate a chronic infection even in the absence of pain.
They are the same thing. The correct technical term is “root canal treatment” or “endodontic therapy,” while “devitalization” is a more common but less precise definition.
